Technology is a power to empower people, it is an important campaign started by the Government of India in channelizing the Digital India Mission connecting people through networks of Communication even to the remote areas. Governance and Service Sector is keenly dependent on technology and are interconnected. Nowadays, we can see online transactions taking place all over the world: Paytm, Phone Pay, UPI, Net Banking are some examples of services provided by the Tapping of Technology. E-Governance is also reforming government policies through technology, the use of ICT to simplify government processes more efficiently in transforming the delivery of Government Services and its implementation on ground level is making things more accessible to the people. Public services are the motto of all government and private Institution apart from some personal benefits from human resource, the role of a giver from one’s life learnings is key stone foundation in channelizing the initiative of tapping the technology. Skilling and upgradation of technology is making day to day activities easy thus, improving online infrastructure.
Science and Technology is not just making an impact on Services Sector but it is facilitating other fields. For Example: Medical, Engineering, Science, Arts, Business, Administration, Management so that duties can be carried in a well-organized manner and achieving its desired goals become easy. Its benefit is just not confined to boosting the economy of a nation and its international relations but also to tackle the problems and challenges faced by individuals. Mobile Technologies in fieldwork makes an office on Wheels, as information can be seen virtually anywhere be it delivery of services, labels, invoices and receipts. The shift in workflow to updating documents instantly gives the customers a better experience. As we know that Industrial revolution started in 18 th Century and our past shows that how well equipped, we were at the time of Indus valley civilization and India was given the name as “Golden Bird” in terms of resources we had comparatively from other nations but the British invasion and colonization had led to failure in growth and its consequences have been a disaster for Indian Economy. The sudden shift in development has not only welcomed the changes it has also invited investors to invest in India. Make in India program a nation building initiative to transform India into a manufacturing hub is starting a movement that inspires, empowers and foster innovation, enhances skill development, boosting entrepreneurship to ease business environment, aiming to increase its GDP by 25% in the coming years. The role of entrepreneurship is to enable people to adapt to new challenges and accept transformation by becoming part of it. The current policy making Think tank ‘NITI Aayog’ has staged great expectations in development for the progress and improvement for our nation which will contribute to our demographic dividend. Formulation of Youth centric policies, skill development Programs, elimination of gender bias, employment opportunities will be productive in executing National Objectives as well as functioning of the Government. The citizen involvement will improve quality of life of the people. Technology like 5G network gives an advantage of sending large amounts of data at very high speed, with a fine blend of Artificial Intelligence (AI) bringing transformations in civilian activities by equipping machines to perform human intelligence process like thinking, perceiving, problem-solving and decision making, deep learning from technologies like:
Robotics and automation
Pattern recognition
Translation
Face recognition
Smart watches
Technology is not just confined to AI but works as means in:
Agriculture sector -Sowing, pest-control, weed removal, harvesting bringing efficiency in farm
Machinery.
Business Sector- Ease of doing business improving ranking of India and business startups,
standup scheme, empowering women Entrepreneurship, small business evolution.
Financial Sector- providing funds via technology through e-banking is making a way in
improving services sector.
Cybersecurity- E-banking has eased the payment system but the challenge in front of the people
is to secure, safeguard their data from hackers, spamming, phishing and avoiding getting trapped
in for example Jamtara thugs scam, accepting requests from unknown person on social media
handles as displayed by the Delhi police advertisement banners, guidelines for cybersafety are
some of the precautions needed as instead of getting advantage from technology, unnecessary
disadvantages are navigating via AI in people life and technology will be a bane instead of boon.
Smart Cities and Infrastructure- lighting the cities is much more important and an integral part of
governance and city management as the wide range of criminal offences taking place like raping,
kidnapping, mob-lynching taking place the upgradation of Infrastructure will empower women
safety.
Defense Sector- From drones to internal security issues, the maintenance of technology and
logistics support assist defense personnel in better operation of defense activities.
Now, Technology in Healthcare is used to develop drugs and therapies using new medical devices and
surgical techniques. Similarly, coping with environmental issues is a major concern during modern times the growing pollution is impacting heath and development needs to be done keeping the safety of
environment in mind as forest cover is majorly required for humans to sustain on earth. India is part of
SDG program and gradually some steps are taken to fulfill SDG Goals but yet to be achieved. Majorly
during the pandemic, the Education sector was hit hard and Institutions like schools, colleges were closed but technological contribution to education has opened up wide range of opportunities to explore and experiment because of technological advancements. Children were provided Smart-classrooms, e-libraries, e-books, Multimedia Computers, E-Pathshala developed by NCERT to disseminate educational resources like audio, video, periodicals among children so that no one gets affected and deprived of learning during such crisis. Various mobile apps (Containing Quiz, riddles etc.) are made and on online Platforms like You-tube Teaching boomed, zoom application, Virtual interviews, Work from home benefit along with-it Digital India Campaign was carried and seen getting a boost. Economy of the country heightened despite there were few setbacks during the pandemic but Services sector and
Education sector has majorly shifted to Tapping Technology finding an alternative to render their services despite odds. Education sector is the key foundation stage of learning for students, to channelize Learning among students despite problems Government of India Started (NIPUN Bharat Scheme) National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy launched by Ministry of Education under the aegis of Samagra Shiksha, other goals like proficiency in foundational literacy and numeracy for every child by Grade 3 took place, PM e VIDYA Scheme was started to enable multi-mode access to education. Some programs like DIKSHA, Digital Infrastructure for quality e-content for school education, Extensive use of Shikha Vani-Radio, Podcast, special e-content for visually and hearing- impaired Students and in sign language content was developed on NIOS portal, SWAYAM Programme for Facilitating National Education Policy, NCF-2005 through Digital Facility, use of mobile devices/DTH television for bridging the gap for out of school children aims in providing them:
1) Inclusive Education
2) Quality and Innovation
3) Gender and Equity
4) Right to Education
5) Vocational Education
6) Sports and Physical Education
Improvement in quality of Education by providing funds and supporting for Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) these factors are key component of measuring development of Education sector over a time period. The improvement in education system gives useful life skills, higher wages and the learning gap is fulfilled. Online Education System during COVID-19 has become a common platform to disseminate learning even to the underprivileged students who do not have access to resources and whose studies were highly impacted and to get back the number of dropouts which were increased during Pandemic among them many families were unemployed, financially stressed or were in debt, increase is child marriages, the increased violence against women, postponement of exams led to depression among students. The tapping technology has improved the way of living but at the same time cybersecurity and fraudulent activities also took place widely all over the world, innocents were trapped in the name of providing food, oxygen, medicines we can see here the importance of education which cannot be derailed from people lives. The vigilant citizen could have dealt with such mishap’s taking place in a different manner and measures have been taken to resolve issues instantly, educational outcomes improved via Technology and some regions also faced socio-economic crisis as condition of the people were affected. The present era of industrial revolution is making its mark across the globe as Quoted by our honorablePrime Minister and it needs to be handled with much care:
“We led the industrial revolution, the White revolution, now it’s time for Cultural Revolution”-
Narendra Modi
The art and craft of our rich heritage culture is cherished among generations and the skills of artisans,
craftsman is not given due credit. Their hard work does not get recognition easily and people cannot reach artists physically due to lack of awareness and a lot needs to be done to promote Cultural revolution through Tapping Technology. This sector can improve and still it needs improvement with advancement as not much work has been done to promote cultural ethnicity, the constant conflict between trending with the western culture and forgetting traditional/Cultural values is a concern for the Nation. Values which are losing with time needs to be safeguarded and safeguarding the tribal culture along with keeping pace with the Development which is taking place is an important aspect to work upon as every revolution brings a learning revolution and so, the tapping technology is aiding and making lives easy for the people by revolutionizing the Technology.
